What does success mean to you? That is one of the most used pageant questions of pageant history. Everyone’s story of success is different. We all have a distinct journey of how WE want to be successful. Success is not easy. It takes time, skill, consistency, determination, and most importantly, confidence. You have to truly believe in yourself and believe that you can make your success possible, and reachable.
Building self confidence is a part of everyone’s success journey. Some are born with an innate ability to stand out, others need more time and encouragement. Either way, knowing that YOUR success is up to YOU is crucial. You can practice as much as you possibly can. But if you don’t feel it in your gut that what you’re practicing for is worth while, your success story will start to take a turn. Self doubt loves to play tug of war with confidence. All of your “what if’s” come to mind, and won’t seem to go away. Believing in yourself and knowing that you are capable of many things is easier said than done. That’s why the Miss Newark USA workshop is here to help you take the next step into believing in who you are ready to become.
Miss Newark USA was a thought on a piece of paper. That’s right. A piece of paper. An idea to help young girls and women experience pageants at an affordable family oriented level. With a lot of hard work, determination, networking, and handshakes, Miss Newark USA was born in 2018. Most of the participants that compete in Miss Newark USA are completely new to pageantry. Others have competed in pageants before. Either way, it is a new stage with a new experience and set of judges. Each year the director hosts a workshop, for young girls and women to attend and learn about Miss Newark USA and what to expect as a future contestant. This workshop coming up will be very specific to walking in heels, and public speaking. We focus so much on our phones, and texting we have lost our public speaking abilities. It’s time for some serious eye contact, and confident voices.
Being confident in yourself also means you are able to speak in front of an audience. At the Miss Newark USA pageant, the required competitions are: Introduction (speaking) Spokesmodel (delivering a speech) Evening wear (looking glamorous in a gown) and On Stage Question (Speaking again). We hope you picked up on that pattern. Being able to carry yourself and your voice as a young girl or woman is crucial and it starts with knowing who you are confidently, then walking in heels.
Be prepared to write an introduction, focus on walking patterns, and taking in criticism. At Miss Newark USA we are here to help you achieve your success. We know you are able to be confident, smart, talkative, and outgoing. Do you believe you are? There is nothing getting in your way but your own reflection.
The workshop launch date will be announced soon! We want to see all of your confident faces there ready to work on building your success. Attend the High Tea Event to get a discount ticket on the workshop. Click here for your High Tea Tickets https://www.missnewarkusa.com/event-details/high-tea
